Ethical Sales Policy
Whilst 1st for Conservatories is, by the very
nature of its products and services, involved in the direct sales
industry, we believe very strongly in operating professionally and
ethically.
Our purpose here, therefore, is to let you know exactly what you
may expect if you decide to contact us for a conservatory quotation:
(If you have designs and sizes for your conservatory, we can often
provide an estimate by 'phone, fax or email - see our PRICES page)
1. The company does not use any Direct Sales marketing methods,
specifically; we do not Door Canvass or Telephone Canvass. You will
only ever be contacted by us in response to your enquiry, your details
will be kept secure and will never be sold and never passed on to
any third party other than at your behest. Upon request, your details
will be deleted from our records.
2. We will make an appointment with you for a specific time
on a specific day - and turn up! We will not insist that your Husband,
Wife, Partner or other "…decision maker" needs to be present. Nor
will we insist that you allow us any particular amount of time.
Usually 30/45 minutes is enough to take measurements and agree details
of the proposed conservatory. If you wish to see various product
samples, have lots of questions, or if the job is complicated, then
allow a little longer. But that is up to you, we will never outstay
our welcome!
3. Our estimator will have an in-depth knowledge of all aspects
of Conservatories, including Conservatory Design & Construction,
Planning Permission and Building Regulations. The first thing that
he or she will do, is listen to you, to find out what you have in
mind and what is important to you. Then, you can discuss and agree
designs and specifications for the quotation, which will be ready
for you together with drawings in just a few days.
4. Our conservatory Quotations are valid for a minimum of
3 months and we are quite happy to deliver them to you verbally
or by telephone, post, fax or email. This ensures that you have
sufficient time to investigate and research, obtain alternative
quotations, take references and reflect upon and satisfy yourself
about your decision.
5. We have a fixed price list and we do not use commission
based sales agents. You will always be given our best price for
your conservatory and your intelligence will not be insulted by
the offer of an inflated price with a huge discount.
6. We do not, under any circumstances, accept orders for
conservatories on the same day as providing a quotation.
7. That's it, then it's up to you. Of course, we would like
some feedback and eventually a yes or no, but in your own time and
without any pressure from us. After you have completed your investigations,
got your quotes and the answers to any questions or queries that
you may have, then you can make a balanced decision.
8. Should you decide to place your conservatory order with
us, you will have 5 days during which you may cancel it, without
penalty, and receive a full refund of your deposit. This is clearly
detailed on our Sales Agreement.
9. Customer deposits and all conservatory workmanship and
materials are covered by an Indemnity Insurance provided by The
National Insurance & Guarantee Corporation PLC, a UK based insurer
meeting all the requirements of the DTI* and FENSA* working within
the guidelines of the FSA*.
DTI: Department of Trade & Industry
FENSA: Fenestration-Self Assessment Scheme FSA:
Financial Services Authority
10. Should you require funding to finance your conservatory,
we recommend that you approach your own Bank, Building Society and/or
one or more of the reputable 'Direct Line' lenders, or your own
Personal Financial Advisor, as they will be able to offer you the
most competitive rates of interest and appropriate advice for your
individual circumstances. It is always a good idea to take at least
2/3 quotations and also to ensure that Terms & Conditions are clearly
understood, especially with respect to settlement terms and secured
or non-secured options.
